Finding your place in Rotterdam

When the subject is “Finding accommodations in Rotterdam”, you must be optimistic. In some countries, you just walk in the street and you find, displayed in a window, a sign saying “For Rent”. In the Netherlands, the scenario is a bit different. There are several websites and rental agencies through which you can search and rent an accommodation. This is the most common and reliable way to find a place in Rotterdam.

Via HousingAnywhere you can  search for accommodation in Rotterdam.

HousingAnywhere is an online housing platform where you can directly reach out to landlords and advertisers from a variety of rooms, studio’s and apartments. Signing up to HousingAnywhere is free, just as browsing the listings or contacting advertisements. Only when you book a room will an administrative fee be charged.

HousingAnywhere can also provide you with information about living in Rotterdam

You have to be aware that, depending on the rental agencies/landlords, you may need to present different documents (e.g. valid passport/ID; payslips; employment contract; etc), and different fees and requirements may apply.

 Tip 1: when you are interested in an accommodation and want to schedule a viewing, it may be useful to let the agents/landlords know a bit about yourself (e.g. why did you move to the Netherlands; where are you working?; how many people are moving with you; etc). It is just a matter of creating an attractive profile, transmitting the idea that you will be the best tenant ever!

 Tip 2: Centrum, Blaak, Noord, Delfshaven, Katendrecht, Kralingen, Kop van Zuid and Blijdorp are the BEST NEIGHBORHOODS.
